Soprano Dana MacIntosh recently returned from singing Fiordiligi in Mozart’s Così fan tutte with BARN OPERA’s Castellopera in Pelago, Italy.  She can next be seen with BARN OPERA in their Vermont home base singing Najade in Ariadne auf Naxos in September of 2022.

Although her role debut as Magda in the Consul with Angels Vocal Art in LA was cancelled due to the pandemic, Dana stayed active throughout the pandemic by performing with OperaDelaware’s outdoor Pop-up Opera initiative and singing the Mother in an outdoor performance of Hansel and Gretel with Opera on Tap Philadelphia.

As a lover of new music, Dana was privileged to perform the live world premiere of Felix Jarrar’s “Untitled” in Pelago, Italy along with the composer himself.  She also starred as Clara in Misha Dutka’s The Stronger, an opera film adaptation of August Strindberg's one-act play of the same title, as part of the 2021 Philadelphia Fringe Festival.

Dana made her professional debut with OperaDelaware in 2018 appearing as Nella in Gianni Schicchi and Buoso's Ghost under the baton of composer Michael Ching. She returned to OperaDelaware as a Young Artist in the Spring of 2019 to sing Kitty Hart in Heggie’s Dead Man Walking.  Also in 2019, Dana joined Baltimore Concert Opera in a semi-staged production of The Consul as Anna Gomez, and early in 2020, covered the title role in Anna Bolena

Dana has performed a variety of roles such as Erste Dame in “Lady Parts” of Magic Flute with Potomac Vocal Institute and Ann Putnam in The Crucible with Miami Summer Music Festival, in addition to Musetta in La Bohème, Magda in La Rondine, Marguerite in Faust and Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors.  She was a finalist in the 31st Annual Annapolis Opera Vocal competition and a semi-finalist in the  2021 Camerata Bardi International Opera Competition.  She has extensive covering opportunities including Ariadne (Ariadne auf Naxos), Countess (Le Nozze di Figaro), Berta (Il Barbiere di Siviglia), Anna Bolena (Anna Bolena), Micaëla (Carmen), and Erste Dame (Die Zauberflöte), Beth (Little Women), and Abigail Williams (The Crucible).  She received her undergraduate and graduate degrees in voice from the University of Delaware and University of North Carolina Greensboro, respectively.
